To all my friends who celebrate it – Happy Thanksgiving!

Autumn
I like autumn, only second to spring. I thought about why? My favourite thing is the contrast of the yellow in the trees and dying leaves against the blue of the sky. About 12 inches above my head as I write this is a Velux window. The three images above were taken without me leavingContinue reading “Autumn”
35mm: At Tate Modern
Following on from my last post – an alternative title for this one, could have been – “Same film stock, different developer”! This, the second roll from my day trip to London, was developed in fresh ID11, rather than use developer obviously on it’s way out. With Ilford Delta 400, it’s not a developer thatContinue reading “35mm: At Tate Modern”
35mm: Takumar Trek Pt2
For those of you who have a long memory, you may remember that I decided to walk the “Castleman Trailway”. I wrote an intro and the first part, which you can read here. Here I continue exactly where I left off. A path runs under this old railway bridge to Hincheslea Bog, but this isContinue reading “35mm: Takumar Trek Pt2”
Film: Ilford SFX
Ilford SFX is the only Ilford film, I’ve not used before. I purchased a roll to give it a try. Why? I’ve never done any Infrared photography before, and while this isn’t a true infrared film, it does have sensitivity extended into that area. The graph from Ilford (Harman) above, shows where conventional film stopsContinue reading “Film: Ilford SFX”
Photographic Pondering
I’ve been thinking more about photography recently than actually doing it! That said I have had three days out over the Easter break, when the weather was decent, and I made some photo’s. So it feels like my “Photographic Year” has finally started. I have been watching a fair bit of You Tube. Yes, thereContinue reading “Photographic Pondering”
Not all my cameras have been small!
This post is a trip down (camera) memory lane! It is prompted directly from reading the “Fogdog” blog written by John Smith. Have a read of his post “Big Cameras“! It prompted me to dig out a few old photo’s of me in my “movie days”! The above is me whilst filming Prince Charles (asContinue reading “Not all my cameras have been small!”
Spring has Sprung
We’ve had bit’s of patchy sunshine here and there over the last week and it’s encouraged some of the spring flowers to burst open. It’s a pleasant relief to see some blobs of colour! I pottered out into the back garden, XT5 in hand, with the XF18-55 on. It’s effectively the “kit” lens of theContinue reading “Spring has Sprung”
More from the XA2
I’ve been decidedly un-inspired these last couple of weeks! It’s been dull and dismal, and it’s effected my mood. To combat this I decided to load a roll of film into the little Olympus XA2 and keep it with me. What that means in practice is, it’s in my pocket as I walk back andContinue reading “More from the XA2”
Poole in XP2
A week or two ago I went for a walk around Poole, with my Canon EOS30, with the 50mm f1.4 attached. Loaded was a roll of Ilford XP2, that I processed in standard b/w chemistry. I was pleased with the results, and would happily home process XP2 again.
