Not that we as photographers need to put ourselves into groups or categories, but I think we naturally tend toward certain behaviours. At one end there is the “pro” who is all about the picture. The other end is the camera/equipment collector who rarely actually uses a film, but likes to collect and certainly talkContinue reading “Shooting HP5”

A solo photo of a solo flower
I’ve lost my photography mojo! About the time of the start of Covid I purchased a “Peace Lilly” from the local garden centre, where I typically have breakfast once a week. It out grew the pot and I had to split it. Another couple of years and repeat – I now have 5! So farContinue reading “A solo photo of a solo flower”
Looking Forward
Yes, I’m still alive, although I’ve had a mini break from posting! This was not intentional, more a fact of I just haven’t done much in the way of photography for the last couple weeks! Hopefully things are about to change, just today, despite a forecast of yet more rain, as I finished breakfast, theContinue reading “Looking Forward”
AI and the stupidness of it.
Bolstered by the non-success of my new laptop, I’ve now proceeded to purchase a phone, or is it a camera or a paperweight? The new laptop is up and running, and I’m typing on it now. That seems fine. Of course I can’t switch it on or get to any programmes or do anything usefulContinue reading “AI and the stupidness of it.”

I’m coming towards the end of my stash of London images, you may be pleased to know! I have a few that I think work in their own right, that have no link they are just random images. As someone who used to make films once upon a time, that is one of the refreshingContinue reading “No Category”
Happy New Year!
Happy New Year everyone! I was up till 2am this morning seeing in the new year in style. Somewhat surprisingly I was up at 9 and showered! The start of a new year often gives me a burst of enthusiasm to get things done and put more effort in. It has often waned by theContinue reading “Happy New Year!”
Reminders Everywhere
Directly opposite my hotel in London was a base for the London Ambulance Service. In the entranceway were three ambulances a recent model and two from years past. I had to make photo’s. I took a moment at this point. My father worked for the railway back in the 60’s but always wanted to workContinue reading “Reminders Everywhere”
Autumn
I like autumn, only second to spring. I thought about why? My favourite thing is the contrast of the yellow in the trees and dying leaves against the blue of the sky. About 12 inches above my head as I write this is a Velux window. The three images above were taken without me leavingContinue reading “Autumn”
35mm: Back to the 80’s
Last month when I visited the Purbeck Car Rally, I decided I’d take my little used Nikon FM2n for a day out. I took the 50mm f1.4 but mostly used the f2 35mm. Sometimes it’s good to just chill and forget about developers, filters and all that stuff, and just throw in a roll ofContinue reading “35mm: Back to the 80’s”
Kodak’s Zoom SUC
I recently came across a Kodak Single Use Camera called the “Zoom”. I don’t remember seeing one before. It had the film removed for processing, and it appears that the back is designed to fracture at a certain point to facilitate that happening. A deliberate weak spot to crack open. You can see below whereContinue reading “Kodak’s Zoom SUC”
