Do you remember those days when you could buy a “grab bag” of film from the local supermarket? I remember Fuji packs at Tesco (my US friends please just think Walmart!) 5 rolls for £15, £3 a roll!! About the same time motor drives were merging into the camera bodies, no longer a “battery box with a motor” that you screwed onto the base of the camera. With it built in, it was even easier to burn through the film. The 80’s was indeed a time for excess. Why I am waffling on about this you may ask? Well I guess I had an 80’s moment!
You may remember near the start of my trip to the Isle of Wight I got photographing the Hovercraft in B/W, you can read that here. I said then, I’d also made images of colour… this is that post. I think the B/W images in that post are better. This time I wanted to record the “landing”… it’s the 80’s stand in one position and press the button approach! Here’s the sequence….
All of these images were made using the Canon EOS30 with the 40mm STM. The single roll of Kodak Gold 36exp that I took with me, cost as much as the 5 once cost from Tesco!
