Foma 200 in the XA2

I’ve been carrying the little Olympus XA2 with me here and there recently, loaded with a roll of bulk loaded Foma 200. This film I like to develop in Rodinal (Adonal) 1+100 for an hour, EMA, at 20 c.

I find this combination keeps the grain low, contrast as I like it and, in fact, I’ve done very little to these scans – they are more or less as they came out of the scanner. The little XA works well, although it does vignette a little, at least my example certainly does! I do have an A11 flash that screws on the side, but I never bother or carry it. I can’t recall ever using it!

If I’m out and about – just want to have a little camera in my pocket “in case I see something” and want that to be film rather than digital – then this is the combo! It’s been very hot here recently – with this roll I was swishing ice cubes about in the water bath to keep the developing temperature down to 20 degrees C!
