Not too long ago I was gifted a couple of rolls of Fuji C200. These, expired in Aril 2010. This is what I now refer to as “the original Fuji stuff” as opposed to the current “new Fuji C200”. If one reads the “new” box, it states made in the USA. Well Fuji don’t manufactureContinue reading “Good Old Fuji C200”

6th June +80
To commemorate the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings, Dorchester welcomed the historic vehicle parade once again. I am old enough that I remember filming the 40th anniversary events on Weymouth beach with my super 8 camera! I wondered if any of those vehicles were there too! After using my Hasselblad for quite a bitContinue reading “6th June +80”
Drake Circus
Drake Circus is the main shopping mall in the centre of Plymouth. It opened in 2006, and houses around 70 shops. It’s a handy place to park in the centre of Plymouth, and close to the HMV store, which once was in the centre, but now is just outside! As shopping malls go, it’s nothingContinue reading “Drake Circus”
Single Photo: Tree in a Park
I made the photo above while on a day visit to Exeter. Although I’ve been to Exeter many times over the years, this was the first time I’ve managed a visit to the gardens. I enjoyed a wander around and made a few photo’s here and there. I was using my Olympus XA2 loaded withContinue reading “Single Photo: Tree in a Park”
Plymouth with the XA2
If you’ve read my last few posts you will know that I took my Hasselblad kit with me on my recent Devon trip. It turned out, as expected, that I would have a couple of city visits while I was there, so I also took along my Olympus XA2 with me, as I didn’t wantContinue reading “Plymouth with the XA2”
Okehampton Castle
Okehampton Castle is cared for by English Heritage. It was built shortly after the 1066 Norman Invasion, between 1068 and 1086 by Baldwin Fitzgilbert. Interestingly he was originally from Le Sap, a small town in Normandy where I once very nearly brought a small house! I digress – this is my “black and white post”,Continue reading “Okehampton Castle”
A Lot of Old rubbish or A film Photographers Environmental Responsibilities
I’ve just come back from Devon (UK), I had a wonderful time and really enjoyed the beauty, fresh air, and openness of Dartmoor. I also enjoyed using my Hasselblad and in total shot 11 rolls of 120 B/W film and 5 rolls of 35mm. I’ve now developed them all and have a scanning job aheadContinue reading “A Lot of Old rubbish or A film Photographers Environmental Responsibilities”
King of Bokeh?
While I was in Romsey, I visited a charity (thrift) shop. There was a good selection of photographic stuff. A rather nice collection of Canon gear, a Pentax ME super, and so on. I’m happy with what I have in those departments, but I did come across one of the old Zenith (Helios) lenses. MyContinue reading “King of Bokeh?”
FP4 as HP5
While I was on my mini-break I raided my film stash for 400 speed film. I felt sure I’d need it, and I was correct! I ran very low, but in the end I returned home with half a dozen exposures left on the last roll. It seems to be a “thing” these days ofContinue reading “FP4 as HP5”
Spyway: a coastal walk
A few days ago the sun came out! Only for one day, but it came out! Obviously an event not to be missed. Even better it coincided with my day off – so I grabbed (one of) my camera bags, jumped into the car and headed for the sea. Joking apart it has been aContinue reading “Spyway: a coastal walk”
