This is the “old manor” at Wisley. Made with my Olympus OM2n with the Zukio 50mm f1.8. A simple lens and not expensive either, but it’s a good one! Likewise nothing expensive with the film either – Kodak Gold.

Bonsai Alley
When I went to Wisley Gardens a couple of weeks back, I also used a roll of Kodak Gold colour as well as the roll of Kentmere 200 I’ve already shared. Unlike that roll I used in the Nikkormat FT2 with the 35mm lens, this was exposed in the Olympus OM2n with the 50mm ZukioContinue reading “Bonsai Alley”
Back to the Quay
At the end of my visit to Brownsea Island, within Poole Harbour, I caught the ferry back to Poole Quay, where I had started and the car was parked. It was busy, and the ferry was full. The image above was made from the top, open deck looking back down the queue. We all gotContinue reading “Back to the Quay”
Kodachrome 40 in Super 8
Prepare yourselves…. this is going to be a long one! It could have had several titles, Agfa Movexoom 6, Back to Super 8, Madness at the kitchen sink- You get the idea. It started several weeks ago when an old acquaintance gave me a roll of Kodachrome 40 in Super 8. It is 40 asaContinue reading “Kodachrome 40 in Super 8”
St Mary’s Church, Brownsea Island
St Mary’s Church on Brownsea Island looks over the green, most people pass it as they start one of the many walks to explore the island. It was built in 1853/4 and was consecrated that same year by the Bishop of Salisbury, the Right Rev. Walter Kerr Hamilton, on 18 October 1854. The Diocese ofContinue reading “St Mary’s Church, Brownsea Island”
The “Mighty” HMS Hood
The Image above is of HMS Hood, anchored in Portland Harbour (UK). A harbour that I lived within 5 minutes walk for 45 years of my life – my playground as a kid. I can tell you that this image was made on the water, I can tell this from the angle, background and aContinue reading “The “Mighty” HMS Hood”
Sundry Saturday!
I’m always reading things about photography in all of it’s many and varied aspects. Hardly a day goes by when I don’t think to myself “I never knew that” or “oh that’s why that is so” or “oh that’s why….”. This is a sample from this last week! DX Coding. Well we all know aboutContinue reading “Sundry Saturday!”
In the Wisley Greenhouse
The Royal Horticultural Society (try saying that whilst drunk!), have 5 “show” gardens in the UK. The closest one to me is in Wisley, just over half a kilometre from the M25, closest point to point! 6km from Guildford or Woking. I took and hour and a half to drive there – coming back theContinue reading “In the Wisley Greenhouse”
More Mono
A while back I cut a film out of the camera to develop quickly. It’s not something I do often, and to be honest, at this point I can’t remember what or why! However this left a 10 or so exposure for later use or for a test. Like many, the local Lloyds Bank closedContinue reading “More Mono”
Brownsea Island
A couple of weeks ago I made a visit to Brownsea Island. The island sits within Poole Harbour (Second largest in the world by area!), and is about 1.5 miles long and 3/4 mile wide and is of course only accessible by boat. It is basically owned by the National Trust but has a complicated history that includesContinue reading “Brownsea Island”
