Last time I wrote about Lulworth Castle in Dorset and finished by showing what is believed to be the first “free standing” Roman Catholic chapel built in England after the reformation (1786) (left). There is also another church here – St Andrews. It has an impressive 15th century tower that pre-dates the castle, the rest of it was re-built in 1864. Apparently plans for this rebuilding were drawn by one Thomas Hardy who was working for Hicks Architects at the time. The only other 15th century surviving piece is the font. All of the photo’s in this post were made on bulk loaded Foma 200 film and developed in (BTTB) Barry Thorntons (Metol) Two Bath. 5 mins A and 5 mins B.
They were all made with the Rolleiflex SL35E. It’s a lovely camera to use, and the 50mm lens is a cut above many. It has one “failing” and that is it takes the Rollei Bayonet fit lenses! This means trying to find a 35mm or a 28mm at a sensible price in good condition is a challenge. Even then, making that investment is a chance as the camera has electronics that may fail at any time. I’ve therefore decided this will be the second SLR I shall part company with.

Coincidentally, I also have some Foma 200 in my bulk loader (for which I still remain grateful, BTW!). I’ll probably dev it in my usual DD-X, but maybe some Rodinal too. It’ll be interesting to compare my results to the very nice ones you’ve gotten here.

I have just today developed 4 rolls of bulk loaded Foma 200 in BTTB (Barry Thronton’s (Metol) Two Bath), it’s a developer that I’m liking very much at the moment! That said I did like Foma 100 in Rodinal Stand! As you will have gathered a few more “days out” to come! – Cheers and all best wishes Andy
