You may remember for a couple of years I worked my way through 400 feet of Ilford FP4 movie film. I thought I’d finished it all up, but then found a last roll at the bottom of a camera bag. By then I’d rolled off 30.5m of Foma 200, that I’ve started using. I just popped the roll of FP4 in the same bag, as I did so, I thought to myself “not a good idea, I should keep it separate so I don’t get it muddled”. Last weekend I had a day out used two rolls and of course didn’t notice one of them was the FP4.
So… you know that thing we do of adding a stop of exposure on for every decade the film is out of date… well I, in error compounded this, and then some!
*Mistook FP4 for Foma 200 so under-exposed the FP4 by a stop (give or take).
*FP4 now 28 years out of date, so ideally should have over exposed by three!
*Still not realising my error, developed the film as normal in BBTB
Yes, the negs are a tiny bit thin but not much. There is a bit more base fog, not a surprise. What is a surprise is the results! This stuff is indestructible!!!
