Left Hand Drive

To celebrate the state visit of President Trump, or maybe just as I have some, I’m posting some left hand drive vehicles today. The black and white images here were made on Ilford’s Delta 100. I do like this film, it has rich tones and little grain. The colour images are on Kodak Ektar, another fine grain film that just delivers. It does have a high colour but I quite like that, it also scans easy! The colour images here are as scanned, they have not seen photoshop at all. All of them were made with the Canon EOS 30 with the 40mm STM lens. Proving, that although it’s nice to have high end expensive film gear, it’s certainly not needed, to obtain good sharp images with good colour/tones!

This last image was made after I left the show, walking along side one of the working places on the industrial estate. They are big machines. I poked my lens through the steel slatted fence and exposed the last frame of film.

  1. I tell you what, when we visited Ireland and rented a car, it took me two full days to get used to driving on the wrong side of the road, while sitting in the wrong side of the car, shifting with my wrong hand. LHD4EVA!

    1. Hi Jim! Strangely whenever I’ve had a hire car in the US, I’ve always got on with it without too much problem. It takes me more time to get used to the automatic side of things. What catches me out more is when I take my own car to Europe, then I’m sat on the usual side of the car but driving on the “wrong” side of the road!! I have to be especially careful then when I first pull away to drive on the correct side! Perhaps the answer is a 3 wheeler and sit in the middle!! 🙂 Cheers Andy
