A Beechcraft 18 -AF258 “Southern Comfort”

The image above I made many years ago. I’ve long since forgotten the details of film/developer and so on. I don’t even know anything about the plane! I just like the image. The plane is from “days past” and sadly, so is the event. It was made at one of the Yeovilton Air Days. As far as I am aware it happened up until covid, then, with the rising cost of insurance and so on, hasn’t happened since! It was at one of these shows that I photographed Concorde. It was always something to look forward to in mid July.

Perhaps slightly unusual is that it is a RNAS base, (Royal Naval Air Station). There is a good museum on site that is open to the public all the time, even when the base is working. I’m surprised that I haven’t made a post about the museum! I’ve certainly photographed it!

    1. Hello! Well I have no idea! However with your help I tapped into google, and I’m sure you are correct! Not only that, if I add “258” visible in the photo, it shows not only the aircraft but in what appears to be the same livery. Seems to be called “Southern Comfort” – many thanks for your superior knowledge!!! Cheers Andy
