More from the Fuji

Just before Christmas the building in the middle distance burned to the ground. The one with the charred beams leaning out over the street was the the Gorge Café on Dorchester’s South Street. It was a land mark for many, some as a café – I can remember going in as kid, when we visited the town from some 10 miles away! For others it was a photo spot to see where novelist and poet Thomas Hardy trained as an architect between 1856–1862. There was a plaque to commemorate this. Such was the size of the fire some 50 firefighters attended for hours, the building is gone, and there is talk of the building either side having to be pulled down.

The only camera that I had a film “on the go” in was the Fujica Compact 35 that I made a mini review of post before last – so that’s what I used. While I was there I finished off the roll on a short walk one lunch break.

The light was quite dull and overcast but the camera performed well. I made a similar review of Fuji’s lesser known GE, if you’d like you can read that here.

Chatter: Fujica Compact 35, FP4+ developed in FX55
