A few in Wimborne with the ME Super

I had an hour or two to spare, and wanted to pick up a magazine. At one point I got 4 or 5 magazines on monthly subscription, some from their start – once I’d filled an entire book case with out-of-date information, and a ton of paper, the whole lot got recycled, and I cancelled all the subscriptions. I don’t think I’ve purchased a magazine since. Books yes, and of course looked at stuff online, but I’ve passed my “magazine Phase”! Anyway, just off to the left of the image above is WH Smith’s – job done. It was a nice day, and I had a roll of Agfa APX 100 to use up, and haven’t used my Pentax ME-Super for ages, so loaded up. Only took the 50mm f1.4, and continued walking!

All the above were developed in FX55, working solution, diluted 1+1, for 15mins at 20 degrees. Negs were just a tiny bit thin, but it was an educated guess at a time. I also did something that I don’t recall ever doing before, cutting the film out of the camera half way through. There was a reason (I won’t bore you with), but it also means that the second half I can dev at 16 mins! The ME Super worked like a dream, although my “photography head” wasn’t screwed on, so I got a couple of frames with camera shake!

    1. Hi Ian! Indeed – When I got mine it was in wonderful condition, I suspect it had little use, but it was all very stiff. I paid out and had it CLA’d, and it came back almost like a new camera. They are not expensive, and I paid over the odds for the CLA, in other words if I ever sold it on I wouldn’t get my money back – but that’s a good thing as it encourages me to keep it!! It must be my lightest SLR, and of course I can use the great SMC lenses on it, and with the little mount adaptor the M42 lenses too! I should use it more!! – Cheers Andy
