Last October saw me walking the last part of this trek, and you can re-cap that here if you wish! Since then, we’ve had winter and the weather has been dull damp and wet. Parts of this track can be quite muddy and not much fun to walk, so I haven’t attempted more. Just recently,Continue reading “35mm: Takumar Trek Pt12”

Tri-X @ Moors Valley
Last weekend I had a couple of days away, I took my “new to me” Leica M4-P loaded with a roll of Kodak’s Tri-X. I didn’t finish the roll, so rather than just snap away, I waited until my next day out to finish the roll on images I wanted to make. Thursday was my dayContinue reading “Tri-X @ Moors Valley”
Poole Harbour on Delta 400
Last Sunday was a lovely day here in Dorset (UK), and after so many days of rain and dull weather I made a point of going out for a walk for an hour, mainly just to get a bit of exercise and fresh air. Of course I took a camera with me, if I hadn’t,Continue reading “Poole Harbour on Delta 400”
Out Back
If I depart from the kitchen door, proceed up the garden path, exit the property through the back gate, I end up standing on a playing field. Three or four games of football run simultaneously on a Sunday morning. Sometimes they are there when I wake up and look out the bedroom window! Behind that,Continue reading “Out Back”
Olympian Way
There is an official Thames Path, it runs from the source of the river, right down to it’s mouth. A small portion of it seems to have another designation as the Olympian Way. I walked from Greenwich out to the Millennium Dome, along the south bank of the river. Give or take about 2 miles.Continue reading “Olympian Way”
Two parks in one!
The arch above is by Sir Henry Moore and stands in Hyde Park. From this view it looks across to Kensington Gardens. You might just make out Kensington Palace in the far distance. The Italian Gardens below are in Kensington Gardens, but the boundary between them and Hyde Park seems invisible, maybe divided by theContinue reading “Two parks in one!”
35mm: North Bank
It’s been a few years since I walked along the north bank of the Thames in central London. Apart from “the embankment”, it used to be quite fragmented and the stretch from Blackfriars bridge to, give or take, Tower Bridge, involved quite a bit of street walking away from the river. Now that stretch hasContinue reading “35mm: North Bank”
London South Bank (again)
I guess a lot of visitors first impressions of London’s South Bank start with their arrival at Waterloo Station. It’s a place of both my present and my past. Many trains come and go from this station of course, one of them travels up and down to Dorset, my home county, several times a day.Continue reading “London South Bank (again)”
35mm: Takumar Trek Pt11
In the last part I’d just walked under the A31, a short walk on, and the Lady Wimborne Bridge (pictured above) appears . I can imagine a steam train running under it . The fact is, it never did – it ran over the top! The bridge was built to allow the path to theContinue reading “35mm: Takumar Trek Pt11”
35mm: Takumar Trek Pt10
In the last part I’d reached the Canford Bottom Roundabout. It’s a bit of a land mark in these parts, and not always for the best reasons. Too many choices in too small a space! In the Google Earth screen grab, I’ve traced in white just under the route, the train once took. It amazesContinue reading “35mm: Takumar Trek Pt10”
