Single Frame: Lobster Pots

I’ve photographed these pots many times. They are on the route that I take around the town of Poole, and they sit on the quayside. They have a certain texture to them, certainly a pattern and of course they are different every time I walk past them, so is the light. I still haven’t gotContinue reading “Single Frame: Lobster Pots”

Single Photo: Cobbles

This is the area outside of the local swimming pool. Cobbled as you can see but also with metal strips and concrete between for decoration. This time of year when the light is low, I can catch the glint of sun. I like the pattern of it! Chatter: Pentax ME Super, 50mm f1.4 SMC, IlfordContinue reading “Single Photo: Cobbles”

Pentax ME Super Goes Poole

A few more images from my first roll of film this year. Still suspicious of the shutter in my Pentax ME Super, I took it for a walk around Poole. It was a lovely sunny day with literally not a cloud in the sky. All seems well with it, again all the images came outContinue reading “Pentax ME Super Goes Poole”

First roll of the year!

Photographically I’ve had a slow start to the year, in fact my first roll of film, although started in January, I’ve only just used up and developed in early February. Almost un-heard of for me. I had to go to the local town of Wimborne for an appointment, so decided as it had been aContinue reading “First roll of the year!”

Frosty Walk with the 5D

I find the grey and dullness of this time of the year a challenge mentally. I never used to even think about it when I was younger, but I would say that the last 5 years or so, I find it demotivating. When I’m at work I rise about 7am, and this morning it mayContinue reading “Frosty Walk with the 5D”

Leica goes to Mudeford

Mudeford (pronounced Muddyford), is in the far east of Dorset, less than 2 km from the end of the sea wall is the Hampshire border. The quayside is at the entrance to Christchurch Harbour – I’ve visited the “other side” many times, you can read the post where I messed up a roll in theContinue reading “Leica goes to Mudeford”

Single Photo: Night Sky

About a week ago I was finishing work, just about in “magic hour” which in my experience is half an hour if your lucky! I looked up and saw the crescent moon, against the sky with just enough light to record as blue (rather than black). Very close by was Jupiter, easily within the frame.Continue reading “Single Photo: Night Sky”

More from the Fuji

Just before Christmas the building in the middle distance burned to the ground. The one with the charred beams leaning out over the street was the the Gorge Café on Dorchester’s South Street. It was a land mark for many, some as a café – I can remember going in as kid, when we visitedContinue reading “More from the Fuji”

Weymouth #5 (Final)

In this last post of my walk along the entire length of Weymouth seafront, I reach the harbour, but before that, what were once old brightly coloured beach huts, have now been replaced by swish new wood coloured kisoks, aiming to look like up-turned boats. I’m not sure if I miss the old colourful hutsContinue reading “Weymouth #5 (Final)”

Door Wreaths

I popped out for a quick lunchtime walk, the first image I made was of a Christmas Wreath on a door so then I got sort of locked on and made more! All of these were made within about 10 minutes of each other! Chatter: Canon 5D with 50mm f1.4
