Single Photo: The Maranatha Christian Church

People who know me will attest that I am not (any longer) a religious person. I was in my youth, and it was thought I may become a priest!! I’ll write more about that sometime. That doesn’t mean that I am not interested in religion – I am. During those years I occasionally came over to this area and drove past the “New England” church as I referred to it, for no other reason than that’s what it looked like to me! It always reminds me of The Witches of Eastwick movie, with Jack Nicholson. Fast forward 40 years and I live just up the road from it! Perhaps interestingly, it is now a “Maranatha Christian Church” – I had to look that up and I’m still not sure what that is exactly! Although they, the church, have been around since 1955 apparently, this is their first church (building).

None of that has anything to do with the fact that I’ve just purchased my 3rd Olympus OM camera – (more on that later too!) and in doing so decided that I needed a 35mm lens. Duly purchased, I loaded up a roll of Ilford Delta 100, and took to the streets. This was one of the first images made with the 35mm, and I rather liked it.
