Hp5 @ 800

Christmas has just landed at the local garden centre I go to for breakfast once a week. I used this as a test to try some HP5 rated at 800asa. I loaded it into my Olympus OM2n and just left it on auto, I think I set an aperture of f5.6, and apart from focussing, clicked away. I developed in FX55, for 12.5 mins at 21°c. The negs are just a tiny bit on the thin side for what I normally like. They scanned very well, but next time I’ll develop for 10% longer. (13.75 mins – I’ll round up to 14mins).

I’m rather pleased with the results. The contrast is under control and the grain is not too bad at all. Certainly produces a usable image for anything I’m likely to need. There was a reason for trying this, which will become apparent in a couple of posts time!

Merry Christmas Everyone!!!!! 🙂
