Last month I had to do “the hospital run” to Dorchester Hospital. This leaves 4 or 5 hours for me to wander about before getting back to the hospital for a pick up! The hospital is on the eastern edge of Dorchester, and a little further east again, Dorchester runs into King Charles’ Poundbury, in the sort of way that you can’t tell where one ends and one begins. Rather that would be the case if there wasn’t an “odd feel” to Poundbury. It always feels to me like a studio back lot somewhere, something not quite real or “right” about the place. Part of that is that the entire place is new, and since my first visit, that is better, things, stuff are starting to grow into place. The other part is that it is so quiet, as a visitor you hardly see anyone! My Olympus OM2n was with me, so here is a first selection of the architecture. No people as there weren’t any – literally!!
