In the Wisley Greenhouse

The Royal Horticultural Society (try saying that whilst drunk!), have 5 “show” gardens in the UK. The closest one to me is in Wisley, just over half a kilometre from the M25, closest point to point! 6km from Guildford or Woking. I took and hour and a half to drive there – coming back the weekend traffic was appalling and it took just over 3 hours! In between, I had a very nice relaxing day there and joined the RHS. Apart from the 5 gardens of their own they have 230 (ish) affiliate gardens to visit, and I feel I’ll get some use out of that. I like greenhouses – doesn’t matter if they are large of small – so made a beeline for Wisley’s.

I had my first ever roll of Kentmere 200 in my Nikkormat FT2N, and the 28mm F that focuses very close. None of that was an obvious choice, but I ended up with some photo’s that I was quite pleased with.

It was a very hot and humid day and to my surprise it didn’t feel any warmer inside than it did outside!

I developed the film in FX55 for 11mins. The negs are a tiny bit dense so next roll I’ll go with 9 mins I think. None the less they scanned well. The nearest affiliate garden to where I live is literally a 10 minute walk away, so that will appear here soon no doubt!
