Single Photo: Poole Alleyway

A few weeks ago I was out shooting with a Canon FT QL with it’s 50mm f1.8 lens. What a nice set up that was. I made the above photo while walking around Poole. It’s not the best that I can do with that image! I think it would be improved if re-taken when it’s wet, or even a night image, maybe both!

I walked past it again today, neither was it wet or dark so I carried on. Having arrived back home from my walk, I developed the film. This time the trouble was getting the chemicals cool enough! I had to pop the dev in the freezer for a minute or two – the cold tap water was 22°c!! I reduced the dev time by 20% for 2 degrees and carried on – they are drying as I type this, they look OK!

It’s been very warm in these parts the last few days. I believe we have just had the hottest June day on record. Yesterday the temperature outside the door of where I work was just over 40°C, that about 104 in Fahrenheit! I know this was the case as when I opened the door it was like stepping into an oven, I put a Paterson Spirit Thermometer on the ledge! Note it’s in the shade, and yes I still have one I haven’t broken yet!
