Kingston Lacy (above) is the closest National Trust property to my home. I enjoy a wander there every now and again. I was going to say that I have a bit of a love/hate thing with the National Trust – but that’s not really true. I belong to the “NT” every other year it seems. Not by design, it just seems to be that way, and so it was that I wasn’t a member last year, but just re-joined again this year! I took with me a roll of Ilford FP4+ and developed it in D23 when I got home.

As someone not from the UK and vaguely familiar with the National Trust, I’d love to hear more about your love/hate.

Hi Shawn! I’m thinking of doing a post along those lines. In a nutshell it boils down to “inconsistency” or whether something suits at the time! I’ll elaborate soon! Cheers Andy

Hi Andy.
I’ve been a member of English Heritage once. I went to visit Bolsover Castle one time and figured that, for a bit more than the entrance fee, I could become a member for a year and get into loads more English Heritage places for nothing. I’ll probably do it again at some point, maybe with the National Trust too.
