Just north of Wareham in Dorset is the Morden Bog National Nature Reserve. On the other side of Morden Road is a Forestry Commission Managed Forest. Of course what that means is that there are patches of young trees, older trees and stumps where trees once stood and have been harvested. The stump above was perhaps home to what is now a telegraph pole!
Analogue Wonderland have monthly offers, and at one point I sent them two or three rolls of colour film for developing and the offer of the day included a free roll of Kentmere 100 120. Of course I wasn’t going to say no thank you! It’s sat in my film stash for a while so I decided to try it out and loaded it into my A12 magazine, clipped it on the back of my Hasselblad 501CM and set off on what turned put to be a 3.7 mile walk, complete with tripod!
I developed the roll in D23, using that same timings that I would use for FP4. The negs turned out just a tad over, if I was to use another roll, I reduce the dev time by 10%. That said, they scanned well.
What drew me to the stump was the exposed root that reminds me of the rear end of an pangolin draped over the bank!
