I took the motorhome down to Teignmouth, parked up, and made the post you saw a couple of posts ago with the phone. You can see it in the middle of the image above. I did of course take a “proper” camera with me, my Canon EOS 30, with the 40mm STM pancake lens attached. I had a roll of Ilford’s HP5 loaded, and took a walk along the sea front.

I developed this roll in D23 and it’s the best results I’ve ever gotten from HP5. Very pleased with that combination, I may even use more HP5 as a result. With reasonable low res scans for the purpose of blogging you won’t see the full effect here, but I’ve made a 8×10 print from a couple, and they look good! Literally a “Happy Camper”!

The lighthouse is on the seafront, quite unusual, and was originally lit by three gas lamps, and had a steady red light. It worked in conjunction with 2 other lights, one 100 feet away known as the back light, the other on the other side of the harbour entrance known as Lucette beacon. Looking seaward groynes are a feature of the town too.

The pier is 212 meters long and was first opened in 1867. I do like both piers and lighthouses, I may have to get a panoramic camera and start a project! The view looking back at land gives an idea of the set up!
