My posts have slipped from being one every two days to longer intervals. This is not a deliberate decision. I’ve done much less photography this winter, especially film, in fact in the last two months I’ve only shot two rolls – unheard of for me! The weather has been very wet and dull in these parts and apart from the fact that’s a bit uninspiring for making photo’s, it’s not conducive to going out at all! On top of that I was “out of sorts” for a week, we’ll leave it at that!! Then there was the laptop debacle that took two free days to sort! Then there was the phone!

I’ll be honest and say that the camera part interests me more than the phone, although I’ve now managed to work out how to store a couple of numbers, make a call, and even a text – there’s hope for the old fart yet! I’ve tried the camera inside, and as expected it’s poor. Outside in daylight however it’s much better and produces OK results. A visit to the local garden centre, apart from providing breakfast, also gave the opportunity for some colour under diffused natural light. I’ve now also managed to figure out how to get the images onto the PC.

Spring is just around the corner, and I hope, and look forward to, getting back into the flow with a proper camera in hand. I’ve set myself a couple of projects for this year, and I hope to squeeze in a few more “days out” all of which should provide time and opportunity to indulge my love of photography!

I’ve been the same so far this year with my film photography, the weather for the most part has been very poor, but out tomorrow with my 2 photo buddies even though the forecast is rain, good excuse to visit a few café bars.

I know what you mean about the weather. Nothing dampens my enthusiasm quite like an overcast day with a featureless grey sky. Having sais that, while I’d prefer some nice contrasty light, pictures can still look ok in those conditions. I just have to do a better job at convincing myself of this fact. 😉

We have all been waiting for Spring, bet it the hope of better weather and lighter mornings etc. For publishing I ten to go for a weekly article and it seems to be something I can manage. Otherwise every two weeks. Take things at your own pace and enjoy it. Don’t let “them” tell you what your ublishing schedule should be.

I was a very late starter when it came to blogging, just over two years now. I do enjoy it very much, apart from anything else it makes me decide what I do think about the things I write about, and get out there and make photo’s, there seems much less point if the images don’t get seen! This year I had a real “winter funk”, combined with a dodgy back and a minor dose of SAD syndrome, I felt very sorry for myself lol. Over that now – spring is here, the Dev tank is back out – all is well with the world! Cheers Andy

Blogging was at first a compliment to Instagram, as a way of telling the story behind the image and giving more context to the photographs. Then ot moved to therapy aamd storytelling, md is progressing towards photography instruction. Trying to demystify the craft…
