Way back in September, Dorchester had a town heritage day. This meant that many of the towns museums, and tourist attractions were open to the public for free. I went as I’d fancied visiting the “Shire Hall“. The battery failed in my Nikon F3 and you can read about that here. Most un-like me I had left a film in the camera, to the point I couldn’t remember what was on it! I finished it off this last week and developed it on Sunday.

I had gone in for a wander about the church which is open daily anyway, but I had a bit more free time that day. There has been a church here since Norman times, but this building dates from 1454. The alter reredos is an alabaster relief based of Leonardo da Vinci’s last supper.

In the porch there is a plaque commemorating Rev John White who was the rector here from 1575-1648, he was instrumental in the sailing of the “Mary and John” one of the boats that founded Boston and The Massachusetts Bay Company!

On the F3 I used the 35mm lens, the film was Ilford Delta 400 and I developed it in Ilfosol 3.
