I was here almost exactly 35 years ago. The Royal Victoria Docks was a very different place back then. Below is a grab from the film “Empire State” starring Martin Landau, that gives some idea. I was here for one of the “super-concerts” of the 1980’s staged by Jean Michel Jarre. Destination Docklands.
I love the shapes that the old cranes make against the sky, I also made a couple of images of the dock itself.
From here I made the return journey on the London Cable Car, then a few yards away the pier for the Uber boat, and took the mini cruise up the Thames, right back to Westminster Bridge! A very full day out!
