There is an official Thames Path, it runs from the source of the river, right down to it’s mouth. A small portion of it seems to have another designation as the Olympian Way. I walked from Greenwich out to the Millennium Dome, along the south bank of the river. Give or take about 2 miles.

I can’t say that it’s a beautiful place to visit, most of it is either under construction or industrial, but it is interesting. Sometimes there are historic signs of industry left long ago, that contrasts with the new, and I suspect very expensive apartments that are sharp and sleek.

I used the orange filter on a couple of the shots. The sky was blue and there were a few wisps of cloud about so I thought that would both bring out the contrast of the building against the sky but also bring out that cloud as bit!

Before long the Heidelberg Materials Ready-mixed Concrete Facility squeezes the path right up against the river. Again, although not a thing of beauty, I do find it interesting. I would imagine that it is a perfect location for it with all the building going on around!

Finally I made it to the area around the 02 arena – and the destination for the walk, and that’s another blog!
