I recently went to Kingston Lacy, the local National trust house, to make a few photo’s of the autumn colour. I Finished off the roll of fresh Kodak Gold that I had in the camera. In some ways this is a “cart before the horse” post as I haven’t posted those yet! However, I then popped in the above film – that wanted to be processed before Oct 2006!

The negs look horrible, especially compared to the fresh roll of Kodak. Although I was tempted just to throw them in the bin there and then, I remembered that the Epson V600 scanner software has a “restore colour” tab. I selected all thumbnails and pressed it. A huge improvement, but still not good. I opened up a few of the better images, imported them into photoshop, and tweaked levels, colour, and some spotting. Above is “as scanned” on the left hand side, and my photoshop improvements to the right.

I’m glad I got some usable images out of the roll. I have 3 more and may well use those up too. As for the Kodak images, well I post them in the posts to come, when I need a splash of colour!
