Over the Mellenium Bridge

I seem to remember when the Mellenium Bridge opened in 2000, it was nicknamed the “Wobbly Bridge” as it was a bit like walking on a boat. So only two days after it’s grand opening, it was closed for another two years! These day’s it’s long sorted, and a wonderful gateway to the Southbank from the city and vice-versa. From about halfway over I took a couple of photo’s looking east, towards Tower Bridge with the idea of sticking them together – I think it worked out ok.

The other good think about the bridge is that it affords one of the best views of St Pauls. The steps that lead up to it, (Peter’s Hill) help to give depth to the views, and just before crossing the road there is the The National Firefighters Memorial, commemorating their bravery during the blitz.

The yellow filter helped to darken the splashes of blue sky and make the clouds pop a little, on the image above. I think the ID11 at 1+1 also helped keep the grain of the delta 400 down a little too.
