35mm: Purbeck Rally

Yes, more photo’s of cars and the like! The truth of the matter is that this summer in these parts the weather has been a bit dull and un-interesting. That, combined with working full time, and other commitments have meant that it’s been a bit of a meagre season for “days out” – which is when I do most of my photography!

A major exception to that was yesterday, when I spent the day in London. More of that in due course. Today I’m having a chill day, and may even process some film later – ohh yes I took some film!

Earlier this year I heard about a rally, and therefore mostly cars, on the Isle of Purbeck. It’s not really an island as such, although I do believe that with the aid of some rivers, you do have to cross water one way or another to get there. Quite possible without even noticing mostly! Purbeck is most famous of course for it’s stone, a lot a major buildings in London for example being built from either “Portland” or “Purbeck” stone. I digress..

This day I decided to take my Nikon FM2n with the 35mm lens. I haven’t used it for a while, and thought it deserved a day out. I’m going to try to use my range of cameras a little more evenly, rather than just grab for my favourite. I shot 2 rolls of FP4+ and one of Kodak Gold 200, so there will be a bit of a mix as I share the photo’s.

Although primarily a car rally there was a small selection of military vehicles. I certainly recognised one of them from the Pilford show, but I suspect that people who own these like to show them off and probably do more than one show a year to do so.

Chatter: Nikon FM2n with 35mm f2. Ilford FP4+ (old movie stock bulk loaded) processed in Ilfosol 1+9 for 4.5mins at 21°c.
