Shortly after the coronation of the king, I stopped off at the little village of Bere Regis. I’ve covered the church in a post before here. On that visit I used up some Foma 200 and moaned that it was a little slow for the interior – this time I had FP4 and therefor had even less speed to play with! I still went in the church and had a go. When I have a roll of HP5 being pushed to 800, I’ll go back again!

Mentioning the coronation at the head of this post gives me a neat tie in for the end. Bere Regis is certainly old, if I mention that it’s thought that Queen Elfrida came here to live a life of solitude to atone for any part that she had in the killing of young King Edward at nearby Corfe Castle, the time gives a clue. That king was killed in 979, and she is thought to have died about the year 1000!
