Last weekend was the Pilford Heritage Show 2023. When I arrived the larger haulage trucks were already doing their thing in the arena. It’s a very relaxed show, never overcrowded, so it was easy to just walk up to the edge and start making a few photo’s. My camera was already loaded and ready to go!

Another of the nicer aspects of the show is that there is a really good mix of things. New, old, steam, transport, militray, country even a craft tent! This year was a little cooler with a few more clouds thank goodness. Previous years have been very, very hot. This year was much more pleasant.

I shot three rolls this year, all Ilford Delta 400, in the Leica. It was also the first time I’ve used the Zeiss 35mm lens for any amount on the Leica too and so far I’m very happy with the results. Compared to the Leica the focussing is a bit stiffer, but that could be because it’s new.

Most of the day it lived on F8, and my shutter speed with either 125 or 250th. So that should be close to the “sweet spot” of any lens. I’ll make a couple of images wide open, and closed right down before too long to see if the performance changes – just so I know! There will me many more Pilford images to follow!
Chatter: Ilford Delta 400 processed in Ilford Ilfosol 1+9 at 21°c for 7 mins. Leica M6 with the Zeiss Biogon 35mm f2.8.
Pilford on Ilford again. 🙂
