Travel: In a hole in the ground..

After wandering about the Valley of the Kings, in the heat of the day it was a welcome break to venture underground and slightly cooler temperatures! At this point in time I can’t remember which tombs I went in and which I didn’t, and to make matters worse I can’t find my travel diary either!

Anyway, I soon realized a few things, one was that some of the tombs were both deep and long, and the deeper ones were no cooler than outside! I expected to see hieroglyphs, and what I expected was like the above. What I didn’t expect was colour!

I find it amazing that this detailed, coloured art is somewhere between 3 and 3.5 thousand years old! The scale is also mind boggling.

All of the images in this post are from a single roll of Fuji NPS160, sadly no longer made. I guess the closest would now be Portra 160. If you’ve read other posts from this series, you’ll know that at I used a Bronica ETRS with a couple of lenses and a couple of backs.

    1. Thanks Mike! I’m pleased with what I can now do with the images as far as quality of scanning and colour correction is concerned – I’ll keep working through! Cheers Andy
