Of course I haven’t physically been back – I’ve just had the roll of Kodak Portra 400 that I started inside the cathedral developed by the lab, and scanned it! I don’t do that much colour film work. I’ve written here before that I’m seriously thinking that once I’ve got through my current stash of colour film, I’ll just do digital colour. Although calculating how much film I have, against how quickly I use it – that’s going to take a while!

The main reason for using colour here was the stained glass. Neither the photo on the left or middle above do justice to the overall effect, which is rather like looking at a cross between the sun and a rainbow. Neither do the photo’s capture the scale, for that matter the first photo doesn’t convey that Graham Sutherland’s (green coloured) tapestry is a whopping 12×23 meters!
Somewhat randomly, to the left of the font is a staff service elevator that caught my interest! The “hoover” is for use in the nave!
