Thinking ahead for when I finish the restoration of my Kodak 2D 5×7 Camera, I’ve done something that I said I wouldn’t do and brought a few bits for when it’s completed. That said, I can give myself a break I think! If I’m honest, I’m surprised I’ve got as far as I have, as well as I have, and only have one bit left to complete. You’ll read about that soon! So, in the meantime I’ve purchased a pack of FP4 film in 5×7, lets just say it makes a 24 exposure roll of FP4 in 35mm look very very cheap! Of course that’s no use without a film holder to put it in – so I’ve purchased one of those too. That’s another whole “thing” which I’ll write about soon – with photography it doesn’t matter how much you think you know – there’s always more to learn!
Further to all that, I would then need to develop said exposure and that’s where I arrive at the subject of this post. I was mentioning all of this to my colleague Charlie a couple weeks back and he kindly offered to make a spiral. He has a 3D printer, and apparently one can download files that people have shared for 3D printing projects – to give you some idea of the scale – I’ve put it next to a standard Paterson reel set for 35mm. It fits well into my three reel Paterson tank. Thanks Charlie! Now all I have to do is finish the camera!!
