I have two backs for my Hasselblad, so apart from shooting mostly Pan-F black and white, I could also have some colour on the go at the same time. In this case I’d cracked open my last (?) 5 pack of Fuji 400 Pro. I’m not sure if this is officially now discontinued or just never available – it amounts to the same thing I suppose.

Another advantage of having 2 backs is that even in the future if I end up only doing B/W film, I could have a 400 in one and 100 in the other, or FP4 in both, and have one for normal development and say one for -1 development, if it’s contrasty, or +1 if it’s dull!

On this trip I was staying right on the edge of Abbeyford Woods, just north of Okehampton. On the way back to the holiday rental, after a shorter day, I had three frames left on the colour roll so I decided to have a walk in the woods and use them up. After about 15 minutes there was a very loud clap of thunder, so I thought it best to head for the car, what first started as a few drops, got heavier the closer I got to the car. By the time I got there it was pouring! Still I finished the roll, and the final shot, shows the path and Higher Tor in the background.
