As you might have read, I occasionally go on a “lunchtime ramble” around the charity/thrift stores, in the town where I work. Sometimes I find a camera at a price I just can’t turn down, but it’s not always a camera!
Way back, must have been 20 years ago, I made one of my then, often trips to London, to co-inside with an exhibition on prints/poster boards in the grounds of the Natural History Museum, of the aerial photography of Yann Arthus-Bertrand. I had learned of it from a TV programme that further told of his exploits.
This book dates from about that time, but back then I couldn’t justify paying out for it, although I thought about it long and hard! A couple of days ago, sat in the window of one of the shops – there it was! I expected it to be £10 – £15 but what a bargain, just £3:50!!!
I might call it a coffee table book, in fact one could make a small coffee table from it! It’s huge – (but then so is the earth!) give or take a couple inches thick , about a foot wide and 14″ tall. It was also heavy to carry back to the car!
Inside is perhaps some of the best aerial photography ever. (Full Stop).
If you fancy a copy, I see that the WoB (world of Books) website has one currently for £4:19, in the UK. I highly recommend it.
